Security:
TRS utilizes a Cisco VPN devices and Microsoft’s Active Directory authentication for all user access to its systems. Each server is behind a Cisco PIX firewall in a secured datacenter provided by one of the largest high-speed Internet Service Providers in the country.
This center utilizes a complex network designed with:
- multiple network backbones with redundant optical carriers forming a self-healing ring to geographically diverse internet backbone peering points
- Large-system UPS and DC power plant
- Dual backup diesel generators
- FM-200 Fire suppression
- Secure access that is monitored and recorded 24/7 by a digital video survellance system
Transcription Platform:
TRS uses the Lanier CMT Transcription application combined with an Oracle database for seamless data storage. All ADT transactions, physician lists, patient reports, templates, etc are stored in this database. Access to the Lanier system is via user/ password credentials which is created within the application itself. The server utilizes RAID Level 5 fault tolerance technology for performance and reliability. It is backed up to a separate server that also on RAID 5 technology. There are two copies of this database at any given time on our secure servers for quick recovery.
TRS is also a certified partner with 3M Health Information Systems/SoftMed Systems and as such utilizes their ChartScript platforms as needed with platform trained Medical Documentation Specilists. Recently, we have implemented the DEP DoQscribe System. As a multi-platform company, we can surpass customer expectations in delivery.
Digital Systems:
We utilize the Lanier VXP dictation server. This server uses voice prompts and the phone’s keypad to step a user through data entry. Typically a physician will enter his/her user ID, patient medical record number, and a work type to begin dictation. This is to obtain the proper patient demographics for the transcribed report. All functions are accessible through a standard telephone by dialing into the server. This server, also, utilizes RAID Level 5 fault tolerance technology. Options are available to either dial directly into our dictation server or to export work from the customers system and import into the TRS system from a customer’s site.
Delivery/Interface systems:
Transcribed documents are delivered electronically with HIPAA-compliant methods to the customer depending on the customers needs and capabilities. Various interfaces into a customer’s EMR system, where one exists, are available for an additional charge. TRS uses an Interface engine supplied by InterFix, LLC which has been certified for use with various vendors systems.
