Educate & Deliver

New Beginnings

New beginnings, educate and deliver! That's our TRS theme for 2006. It speaks of all things new and exciting, it speaks of education, and it speaks of us actually delivering all of these things. Great! So what does that really mean to TRS and to our TRS team members?

We develop a theme every year to speak to our goals for the year. The 2006 theme is a follow up to the 2005 theme, which was "The Year of Development, From the Inside Out," which spoke to how do we develop ourselves starting with each of us internally, setting goals, establishing objectives to accomplish those goals, and then going for it! Everyone in our company developed goals for themselves, both personally and professionally, and we all worked toward accomplishing those goals.

At TRS, we have made a commitment to supporting this theme by doing some exciting things this year. First, our budget has set aside a dollar amount for every single employee for personal education and development.

The new technology that allows us to do webinars has been a huge success so far. By providing this, we provide educational opportunities for team members who can improve their knowledge through education. This also allows us to develop those same educational opportunities world wide as we partner with some of our training programs. The speakers are great and the topics interesting.

Our CMT prep course is another example of educate and deliver. In addition,  we will be setting up a prep course for the RMT (Registered Medical Transcriptionist), which is a credential for those MTs who do not have acute care hospital experience.

We also have our medical transcription training programs. Currently we have two, one in Trinidad and one in Guyana. TRS team members are there developing education to folks who simply want to better themselves and their families and improve their opportunities. In addition, we are in the process of working with two different entities here in Greensboro to offer that training program locally. It is our hope that we will see many more opportunities to deliver a quality MT education program across the country!

Okay, so that covers the new beginnings and the education part. What does that word "deliver" really mean? It means that through education we will deliver. Deliver what? Quality documentation to our customers, increased opportunities for our team members, a sense of accomplishment for those who set and meet their personal goals, better educated MTs for our industry, and MTs at TRS who have great opportunities for advancement in our company! It means simply that it is about more than just paying lip service to the importance of education, it's delivering something tangible to show it is important.
